A Reading from Judges

Psalm 123 (read in unison.)

1 To you I lift up my eyes, *

to you enthroned in the heavens.

2 As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, *

and the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,

3 So our eyes look to the LORD our God, *

until he show us his mercy.

4 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy, *

for we have had more than enough of contempt,

5 Too much of the scorn of the indolent rich, *

and of the derision of the proud.

A Reading from First Thessalonians

The Sermon

A period of silence follows the sermon.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified St. Martin’s Episcopal Church 24th Sunday after Pentecost | November 15, 2020 2

under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Prayers of the People

The Peace

The Holy Communion: Eucharistic Prayer B

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

…Therefore, according to his command, O Father,

We remember his death, We proclaim his resurrection, We await his coming in glory;

The Lord’s Prayer

The Breaking of Bread and the Invitation

Music at Communion Just as I am

Just as I am, without one plea But that Thy blood was shed for me And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee O Lamb of God, I come! I come

Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt Fighting and fears within without O Lamb of God, I come, I come

Post-communion prayer

Eternal God, heavenly Father, you have graciously accepted us as living members

of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, and you have fed us with spiritual food

in the Sacrament of his Body and Blood. Send us now into the world in peace,

and grant us strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
